”QAnon” or “IQ of None”?   By…Erik Schuman   For the past few weeks, I have been working for the Census. I have been going door-to-door trying to get people to fill out Census – something they passed on doing for a handful of months. I am not allowed to say anything about any residences I visit because if I do, I can face up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. I do not desire to spend even one day behind bars or pay a fine of even $250, let alone up to 1000 times that.   MOST of the people I have interacted with have been nice and pleasant to deal with. Not all, but most. Some are…I am looking for the appropriate words to describe inappropriate people…not so nice and pleasant to deal with. Some are rude. Some are hostile. I am not bothered by it as much as I am amused by it. Those who are hostile - I know they are just “yelling at the uniform” and not me. I just tell these “people” I refereed high school basketball for 16 seasons (I am hoping to return in March afte

Do you know who I am? No? GREAT!   By…Erik Schuman   After a break I am back and from now on will be posting every week. One of the great things about the Internet and social media is also one of the worst things about it. social media sites allow people the right to comment on anything. It might also be a way for them to pick a handle that has no ties to them at all. Butcherboy32 signs up on Twitter and now he/she is free to say whatever they want. You can threaten to harm someone and if that gets you in hot water you simply delete the account and sign up for a new one as: Butcherboy33.   If Butcherb

It’s NOT my fault…Even though it IS!   By…Erik Schuman   After a break I am back and from now on will be posting every week. On July 1, 2019 Anaheim Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs was found dead in his hotel room just before the Angels were set to play the Texas Rangers (I know the team is technically: The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim but I have lived near Anaheim for a long time and I refuse to call a team that DOES NOT PLAY IN LOS ANGELES – LOS ANGELES! They will be the Anaheim Angels to me until they either change the name or fold operations – neither of which I expect to happen). There was a lot of sorrow over the 27-year-old’s passing. How could someone in such great health suddenly die? The Angels honored Skaggs’ memory in their first home games since his passing, on July 12. His mother threw out the ceremonial first pitch. The players all wore #45, his number, and the team combined to throw a no-hitter. It was a truly touching moment and one of the highlights of anot
